Interesting. Makes me think of a store I stumbled upon today accidentally in Schaumburg. It was White Wizard Toys.

It was such a large store, which I think was pointless because it was focusesd on such a niche market as it was selling sci-fi/fantasy toys. No wonder that there was nothing left there and they had 40-60% sale due to store closing. Even in the pictures on the site it shows that their space utilization was not that great. I agree that this can be the biggest mistake a retailer can make especially with current costs for rent.

I know White Wizzard Toy very well. I just didn't know they are closing.
That's sort of obvious example of space waste. But, a lot of business careful about rent also get damage nowadays.
The RIT professor on the bottom paragraph suggested that rent should be 4% of gross sales.
We are paying $1,425 per month, so it should be $1,000 gross sales "per day".
That's very tough in this economy though we will try.
