10 Best Things After Opening

Opening game store is more than getting games from factory and sell them. You need to be different from competitors.

I believe those are the 10 best things we did after opening CybKnight.

1. Introducing Ebay and half.com for support
2. Eliminating cash option and raising store credit to reasonable level for trade in
3. Opening gameshop right next to Internet cafe
4. Having wholesalers nearby, so saving shipping cost and delivery time
5. Closing on Sunday
6. Having blog for our advertisement and adsense income
7. Doing many things myself
8. Didn't go through franchise
9. Decorating store by free posters and standees
10. Having APT nearby, so possibly walk to work

I wonder if there's any suggestion. Tomorrow, I will write the worst things we did.

3,000 Score

Finally, CybKnight's has reached 3,000 Ebay Feedbacks.

I think it was around 400 by the time we started CybKnight. This is the second best thing we did so far.

Single Person Enterprise

As economy is getting bad and labor is getting expensive, I believe Single Person Enterprise will increase from now. Simply, you are only one working for your company. Tom Peters called it "Brand U" and "Me Inc".

This was not possible for manufacturing industry 20 years ago. But it's possible in IT, finance, consulting or other service firms. Now human can be replaced easier for Internet or other technologies. Also, it's tough to afford to hire many employees.

This has been more common in Korea and Japan already. But, I expect it would be more popular in America soon. Already the travel agency and optometrist next door are run by single person.

It was pretty busy inside. We were waiting 20 min to sit any table.

It was pretty busy. Many people bought lots of things.

I love my business, but I decided to enjoy my life, too. A lot of business people just kill themself.

Negative Feedback

When you receive a negative feedback on Ebay or Half.com, it's very important to replay that properly.

People usually read all before purchase and the sales would be the same or similar.

Overstocked Games

I didn't know my mom checks this blog in Korea. She has no English, though. She found Koreans said this blog is helpful, but written in English at Naver.

The photo is Ebay sales, today. Ebay is vital part in eliminating overstocked games.

Store Credit

We've got the biggest amount of game trade-ins this week since many customers are in spring break.

Many gameshops suggest store credit and cash for used games. If someone ask, "What is the best thing you did after opening?", I would like to answer that "Eliminating cash option and raising store credits to reasonable level".

Having cash option attracts lots of crime including armed robbery. Also, it ruined store finance totally for not selling used games. Besides, by suggesting very low store credit to make up the loss of cash out, you can lose good gamers as customers.

In case of store credits, there is something I like to call "store credit rule". By "store credit rule", we won't lose much money even if we suggest better credits.

Make sure people, criminals and gamers are all different. All you need is gamers. I believe we can make gamers' heaven through better store credits while securing finance.

Focus

World Baseball Classic Final

Korea cannot win Japan unless we focus on one thing and one thing only.

I believe Focusing on one field is power of Japan.

Pizza Delivery

Actually, many people don't know, but pizza delivery makes quiet good amount of money.

But, I wonder if he can make money by driving such a big SUV, though. As I said, their spending habit may have problem.

No Price Policy

No Price Policy may work since those prices are not very different from store to store.

Coffee are around $2-3 everywhere and sandwiches are $5-7.

This is honestly over invested business.

They invested money honestly, but over invested also.

I hope they will make money.

Online Booming

It seems online sales is booming again.

If you manage a gameshop, my first advise is doing online sales together. It will cover your sales while you close your store.
